Narragansett Creamery
The Creamery began in 2007 when local food advocate Louella Hill joined forces with Mark Federico, owner of Providence Specialty Products (a little-known cheese manufacturer on the city’s Westside). Putting together their passion for cheese and knowing the time was right, they started to craft small batches of Gouda, Feta and farmers’ cheeses (queso blanco). The idea took off like dynamite. Narragansett Creamery is currently the only producer of cheeses in Rhode Island. Making cheeses with fresh, milk not only helps dairy farmers but helps Planet Earth as well. Instead of flying cheeses in from far away, Narragansett cheeses are produced locally.

Nella Pasta
Nella Pasta had an oh-so-simple idea: to make pasta using only ingredients from neighboring farms. Their name in Italian means “in the” because what goes inside the pasta is the trademark of their products. So what exactly is their pasta? A unique handcrafted mixture of produce, artisanal cheese, their signature wheat blend, and a profound respect for the freshness you find in Italy. They choose vegetables picked locally and in season whenever possible; roast and saute or steam them for the best flavor, and complement them with creative and unexpected ingredients like specialty cheeses, fresh herbs, nuts, and dried fruits,. Then there’s their secret ingredient, a sustainable food movement, which is blended into each pillowy bite. Put it all together and you have a truly exceptional ravioli that’s good for you too. A notion worth chewing over–indeed!

OCCASIONAL VENDORS:
Ackermann Maple Farm
Ackermann Maple Farm knows that quality syrup is crafted from Vermont’s Sugar Maple trees. In Spring of 2013, Ian Ackermann enlisted the help of his family and friends to construct the Sugar Shack using wood sustainably harvested and milled by Ian himself. There, the syrup that flows from over 2,000 trees is heated using a natural wood fire, separating the water from the mixture and drawing out the pronounced natural maple flavor Vermont is known for. The syrup is bottled and sealed in glass containers by Ackermann himself so that he can assess and assure the quality of each bottle shipped. Glass containers are better for the environment and better preserve the syrup than it’s plastic counterpart for an increased shelf-life.

Yummy Mummy Brownies
Melissa Roiter grew up surrounded by good food. Her mother, now a yummy gran-mummy, was a caterer, her aunt, a chocolatier and her grandmother, an amazing at-home baker. It was Grandma Irene who passed onto Melissa her famous, unique and always a crowd-pleaser, chocolate brownie recipe. After years of baking the brownies herself, Melissa knew that the delicious treats were destined to be shared. But a business name? A concept? She needed a spark. That spark was ignited Mother’s Day 2007; the brownie business started and today Melissa is ready to share the most delicious brownies with you, your friends and family.
