2016 Mini-Grant winners announced!
Congratulations to Ms. Meghan Clark, Warren School Kindergarten, “Small Kids, Big Impact:” $275. This grant will fund literature covering the three Rs – reduce, reuse and recycle — which will be used to help students learn to make a big impact on their community. The students will work with recyclable materials to create artwork and make their own reusable tote bags!
Congratulations to Ms. Christine Graham, Ashland High School (AHS), , “Triple Stream Waste Reduction Program:” $975. Funds will be used towards an AHS Earth Club waste reduction program for the entire student body. To reduce the amount of trash designated for landfills, the club plans to create a three-part trash-bin system, in which there will be one bin for recyclables, one for compost and another for trash.
Thank you to all who applied for the grant and a special thanks to the AFM’s Education Committee for their execution of this grant. Stay tuned for more grant opportunities.
