Ashland Healthy Harvest, Inc. provides grants to support its mission of contributing to a vibrant Town center; creating access to local food choices; improving public health through information and education about nutrition, diet, exercise, local and sustainable farming, and related topics; and contributing to community building within the Town of Ashland.
Past grants have included:
- $494.00 to the Friends of the Ashland Public Library Documentary Film Series in support of sustainability and environmental science
- $250.00 To the Ashland Public Library, Children’s Department for the purchase of Discovery Kits specific to gardening, farming, health, fitness and nutrition.
The Ashland Healthy Harvest, Inc. Board of Directors is committed to improving and expanding on-site recycling at the 2016 Ashland Farmers Market to include stations for the proper disposal of compost (including biodegradable plastics), recycling of non-compostable materials and trash.
The 2016 Ashland Farmers Market Grant Program will give preference to applications that complement or enhance our recycling and composting initiative. Applications that address education about the use of compostable materials or applications that address viable, sustainable solutions for the removal of compostable materials within the Town of Ashland will be given highest preference.
